Data centers are truly the core of any organization - large or small. With the advent of new computing models including cloud computing, Web 2.0 models such as social networking, video sharing and multimedia collaboration heavy processing demands are being placed on existing data centers. The growth demands on this market have skyrocketed further by new regulations required of businesses including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and industry specific regulations such as those impacting the health care sectors. In general, the new regulations call out the need for enterprises to save its data for an extended period of time. SOX also impacts enterprise wide disaster recovery strategies which directly impacts the architecture of the existing data center and places new requirements on next generation data center architectures.
